Building the Dam That Built the West

This working railyard and museum is home to the locomotives that built the Hoover Dam. From September to May (subject to change), you can take a daily ride on the Boulder City Branch Line, one of the original lines used during the dam’s construction. For another one-of-a-kind experience, become an Engineer for an Hour and take the throttle yourself, guided by a Federal Railroad Administration-licensed engineer.
