Baumann paintings at The Lost City Museum in November The Lost City Museum presents the paintings of Willy Baumann throughout November. Features of the show include lifelike paintings of animals and fauna.
Raised in Switzerland, Baumann immigrated to the Unites States and had a 30-year career in baking. He began painting works that reflect the natural and architectural landscape of southern Nevada. Baumann has received many private commissions including missions of southern California in collections throughout the country.
The Lost City Museum actively engages people in understanding and celebrating Nevada’s natural and cultural heritage. One of seven managed by the Nevada Division of Museums and History, an agency of the Nevada Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, it is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. Admission is $5, children 17 and younger and members enter free. The museum is at 721 S. Moapa Valley Blvd. in Overton. Take Interstate 15 to exit 93. Access is also available from Lake Mead National Recreation Area or the Valley of Fire State Park.
